Frequently asked questions about affordable therapy services in Africa

Seeking therapy is a courageous step towards understanding yourself and improving your life. If you're unsure where to begin, worry not, you're not alone. Many people search for mental health support and feel overwhelmed by the many options, therapy methods, costs, and uncertainty about what the whole therapy process involves.

We would like to make therapy easy and supportive for you, and are here to guide you every step of the way.

We offer individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, teen counselling, and group sessions. Our therapeutic approaches may include methods such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic therapy, EMDR, mindfulness-based therapy, and different integrative therapy methods.

We also combine different holistic wellness practices into our therapy sessions, especially ones aligned with the African culture, traditions, and ways of living.

Each client is thoughtfully matched with a therapist and a therapy approach that aligns with their needs and goals.

Honestly, we would love for them to be free to all that need them, but that is not always the case. From time to time, we are fortunate to offer sponsored or donation-based sessions that are fully covered or require a very small contribution from an individual.

When these opportunities are not available, we still remain committed to providing professional, high-quality services at affordable rates. Check our fees page for more details.

You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy and you should not wait for a crisis to begin therapy.

Many people seek therapy simply to better understand themselves and build healthier coping strategies.

You can seek support for:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Emotional burnout
  • Relationship challenges
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Self-development and growth

If something feels heavy, confusing, or persistent, therapy can help you process it in a safe and structured way.

Another reason we encourage therapy is because the world has been in chaos for decades now, and most of us were not raised in perfectly attuned, emotionally aware environments.

Many of us carry unresolved "mother" or "father" wounds inherited patterns, coping mechanisms, and relational habits that may have originated with our parents or even earlier generations before them.

Over time, these dynamics have become family rhythms, shaping how we love, communicate, behave, respond to stress, and see ourselves.

In many ways, this is our shared human narrative and that's why we encourage therapy for everyone.

Therapy is a proactive investment in your emotional maturity, self-awareness, and breaking cycles so that you don't unconsciously pass them on.

Therapy can be short-term or long-term depending on your goals and needs.

Some individuals benefit from short term focused sessions especially those that have been to therapy before while others choose ongoing support for a longer period of time.

Everyone has their unique needs, so we work together to create a plan that feels right for you.
